About Physiotherapy Department
Physiotherapy is the treatment of movement disorders, pain and disabilities using techniques such as exercise, training, movement rehabilitation, mobilisation, manipulation and electrophysical agents. Disabilities treated may include fractures, arthritis, sports injuries, back injuries, chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma and emphysema, burns, and disorders of the neurological system such as stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, spinal injuries and Multiple Sclerosis.
Physiotherapists work in private practice, general hospitals, rehabilitation centres, community health centres, sports medicine clinics, psychiatric hospitals, maternity hospitals, industry clinics and centres which specialise in the treatment of children or elderly people.
